Andile Khumalo CA(SA)

CEO: KhumaloCo

Andile Khumalo is a seasoned entrepreneur and Chartered Accountant (SA) with over 20 years in business. He is Founder & CEO of KhumaloCo, an investment firm with interests in Technology, Media, Telecommunications, Financial Services and Venture Capital. He serves as non-executive Chairman of investee companies Brave Group and Ince.

Andile started his career at Deloitte and in 2002 joined Investec as an investment banker before starting his first business and ultimately joining MSG Afrika in 2007. After spending 11 years as a shareholder and COO in the firm, he exited the business in May 2018.

Andile has served in various non-executive roles over the years, including as a member of the Takeover Regulations Panel, a member of the Directorate of Market Abuse, a director of SAA, and President of ABASA.

In 2013, Andile founded I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR, a national programme that helps entrepreneurs grow their businesses. He serves as a fellow of The Centre for African Management and Markets at The Gordon Institute of Business Science and regularly writes and often speaks on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Transformation.

Dineshrie is an entrepreneur, author and communication coach who has grown her business over the past 13 years via referral. As an accredited coach, she has inspired and skilled thousands of people to overcome their fear of speaking and shatter the personal limitations that hold them back from their success. Thembelihle Ngema

Thembelihle graduated from the University of Natal with Honours in Accounting and joined Standard Bank in 2009. Her career started off at PKF where she served her articles and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2008. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Personal and Private Banking within Standard Bank across 15 countries. Over the last 14 years, she has led various teams within the personal and business banking finance team She has been responsible for the transformation of finance from traditional finance into value management, driving strategic objectives, driving business performance and strategic planning. She is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and staff and growing the continent. She is based in South Africa and has 2 young children and enjoys travelling and reading.

Waseem Carrim CA(SA)

CEO of the National Youth Development Agency

Waseem is the CEO of the National Youth Development Agency. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He is passionate about developing young entrepreneurs, national service and finding pathways to opportunities for young people. He is also an independent audit committee member at Brand SA, Mpumalanga Tourism Authority and the Health and Welfare SETA. Gareth Olivier CA(SA)

Head of School for CAConnect

Gareth Olivier CA(SA) is the head of the School of Professional Accounting at Milpark Education.

Gareth co-founded CA Connect in 2009 and led the team that merged with Milpark Education and became the only online SAICA-accredited CTA in South Africa. Currently, Milpark Education has the fastest growing CTA in South Africa and is the largest contributor to SAICA’s first board exam (ITC).

Gareth was the runner up in SAICA’s Top 35 Under 35 in 2014. He has been involved with SAICA in accreditation reviews and ITC setting since 2009. Until 2018, he was on the Financial Reporting Technical Committee (FRTC) which is responsible for the reliability of financial reporting standards in South Africa, and advising the Minister on matters relating to financial reporting standards. He is currently an Expert Advisor to the JSE & SAICA’s Financial Reporting Investigation Panel (FRIP).

Gareth has a great passion for the CA industry and is an educator at heart. He is energised by the macro transformation that comes from organizing and participating in large communities that are set up to add value to society and change lives.

Gareth is Christian and lives in Cape Town with his wife, son and daughter. He loves early morning mountain bike rides, discovering new music and adventuring with family and friends.

Colin Timmis

Country Manager, Xero

Colin Timmis is the country manager for South Africa, leading business operations and growth across the country for the last four years. He joined Xero in 2016 as head of accounting, South Africa. Colin has over 12 years of experience in the accounting profession and has expertise in cloud accounting software implementation, development and best practice. In 2011 he founded South Africa’s first ever cloud practice, Real Time Accounting, and later became the first certified Xero advisor in South Africa. Colin has also worked at global accounting firm BDO and is a SAIPA certified accountant.

Fred is a recognised public speaker and consultant. Fred is obsessed with brand strategy and digital media – with side habits of pizza, Hawaiian shirts, movies, craft beer and fine wine. Fred Roed was Head of Agencies at the IAB SA (Interactive Advertising Bureau SA) between 2013 and 2016, and was awarded “Best Individual Contribution to the South African Digital Industry” in the 2015 Bookmark Awards held at the Turbine Hall in Johannesburg. Linky Olivier CA (SA) is the CEO of CAMAF, which is looking after the healthcare needs of approximately 48 000 people. CAMAF has an excellent reputation within the healthcare and accounting industries as a trustworthy and caring healthcare partner.

Before commencing her role at CAMAF, Linky spent 14 years as a senior manager and executive, respectively, in the healthcare administration environment, with CAMAF as a key client throughout the period. Nicholas Riemer CA(SA)

Nicholas attended the University of Johannesburg where he completed his CA(SA) studies. He has always had a passion for finance and financial education and spent a year in academia at the University of Johannesburg before completing his articles through FirstRand and heading up the FNB Investment Education division. Nicholas is well known for his articles and interviews on different financial topics in the media.

In 2020 Nicholas co-founded The Invigilator Application, a tool currently used by 40 South African academic institutions in maintaining academic integrity with an all-inclusive, mobile phone and PC solution. The application was the most downloaded education application across all app stores in South Africa in 2022 and 2023, and has subsequently been rolled out in Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, and India.

In 2021 Nicholas was named the SAICA top 35 under 35 overall winner.
