Andile Khumalo CA(SA)

CEO: KhumaloCo

Andile Khumalo is a seasoned entrepreneur and Chartered Accountant (SA) with over 20 years in business. He is Founder & CEO of KhumaloCo, an investment firm with interests in Technology, Media, Telecommunications, Financial Services and Venture Capital. He serves as non-executive Chairman of investee companies Brave Group and Ince.

Andile started his career at Deloitte and in 2002 joined Investec as an investment banker before starting his first business and ultimately joining MSG Afrika in 2007. After spending 11 years as a shareholder and COO in the firm, he exited the business in May 2018.

Andile has served in various non-executive roles over the years, including as a member of the Takeover Regulations Panel, a member of the Directorate of Market Abuse, a director of SAA, and President of ABASA.

In 2013, Andile founded I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR, a national programme that helps entrepreneurs grow their businesses. He serves as a fellow of The Centre for African Management and Markets at The Gordon Institute of Business Science and regularly writes and often speaks on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Transformation.

Vincent Motholo CA(SA)

Executive Director: Finance at UCT and SAICA Chairman

Vincent is an extensively experienced Chartered Accountant. He leverages professional exposure, career progression, and knowledge building gained over a 15-year professional career, marked by substantial development and success.

Vincent is the Executive Director Finance of the University of Cape Town (UCT). Prior to joining UCT he was a partner and director at SNG Grant Thornton. His abilities include being able to communicate a compelling strategic vision and inspire others to achieve objectives. Vincent is skilled in fostering beneficial partnerships across organisational, functional, cultural, and global boundaries, negotiating persuasively to shape stakeholder opinions in a manner that gains full support for key business initiatives.

Championing an innovation-friendly culture, with a parallel focus on developing talent and promoting professional growth, Vincent actively participates in the education of aspiring chartered accountants. His passion for learning and development led him to participate in the assessment processes of aspiring chartered accountants at SAICA, which started in 2008 as a marker and then led him to be an umpire for board exams. Furthermore, Vincent has been involved as one of the subject matter experts on the monitoring review panel responsible for assessing the accreditation of universities. Vincent has volunteered his time and expertise serving on the following SAICA structures: Initial Professional Development committee, Pretoria District Region, Northern Region Council and the Universities Local Subvention Committee.

Vincent has served on numerous Board committees including SAICA’s Audit and Risk Committee as an independent non-Board member and as a Trustee at GetSet Trust, addressing challenges faced by the youth in achieving career success.

Gareth Olivier CA(SA) is currently the Head of Education at Milpark, and was previously the Head of Milpark’s Accounting Department.

Gareth co-founded CA Connect in 2009 and led the team that merged with Milpark Education and became the only online SAICA-accredited CTA in South Africa. Currently, Milpark Education has the fastest growing CTA in South Africa and is already one of the top contributors of students to SAICA’s first board exam (ITC).

Gareth was the runner up in SAICA’s Top 35 Under 35 in 2014. He has been involved with SAICA in accreditation reviews and ITC setting since 2009. Until 2018, he was on the Financial Reporting Technical Committee (FRTC) which is responsible for the reliability of financial reporting standards in South Africa, and advising the Minister on matters relating to financial reporting standards. He is currently an Expert Advisor to the JSE & SAICA’s Financial Reporting Investigation Panel (FRIP).

While Gareth has great passion for the CA industry, he is a systematic educator at heart and is energised by the macro transformation that comes from organizing and participating in large communities that are set up to add value to society and change lives.

Gareth is Christian and lives in Cape Town with his wife, son and daughter. He loves early morning mountain bike rides and discovering new music.

Werner also serves on the PPS Mutual Board in Australia and is the executive responsible for the Innovation Strategic Initiative at PPS.
