Senior Associate, Questco Corporate Advisory Proprietary Limited

Moeketsi is a senior associate at Questco Corporate Advisory, an independent corporate finance boutique that provides strategic, corporate and regulatory advice to various companies.

His purpose statement is to provide exceptional, independent and transformative advice to his clients and has developed formidable relationships with clients, employees and other stakeholders across the South African corporate finance landscape.

Moeketsi is a firm believer that the CA(SA) qualification provides one with everything you need to succeed in the corporate world. ‘You walk into a boardroom with the confidence of knowing how much people respect you and your profession. I’ve used the chartered accountancy qualification as a foundation to build my career and also to find innovative ways to pursue my other interests and passions.’

Moeketsi is passionate about the arts, specifically jazz, and as a loyal patron, is investing in the development of young South African jazz artists. He is a co-owner of iSandi Sarona Proprietary Limited, a record label company currently focused on the production and management of a South African music award-winning jazz artist.

Moeketsi, together with his business partners, produced Herbie Tsoaeli’s sophomore studio album, ‘At This Point in Time | Voices in Volumes’. The album was nominated for a South African Music Award in the ‘Best Jazz’ category. iSandi Sarona is expanding and looks to contribute to the employment of young people / jazz artists.

Moeketsi has always been hungry for knowledge and passing it on to his employees, mentees and siblings, as well as the greater and his immediate community. This involves providing ad hoc financial advice to families and sharing hot stock tips with friends and fellow stock market nerds.

‘I am passionate about mentoring and seeing young professionals thrive at work and within their circles of productivity.’ Moeketsi can always be spotted providing guidance to some of his younger colleagues in the office.

Having been nominated as one of the 35 finalists of the competition has been a privilege for Moeketsi. ‘The amount of talent in the profession is unbelievable and I truly feel honoured and humbled by SAICA and its partners.’

His advice to other young CAs(SA) is to dream big, be enthusiastic and excited about the future, be spiritually with their goals and have a clear plan. ‘Never, ever, ever think that you can’t!’
