She currently forms part of a leverage and acquisition finance team in Dubai covering Africa and the Middle East, and extending credit lines worth more than USD5 billion. Among her notable contributions is the execution of a GP finance deal of USD70 million.

In her previous role as business planning manager to the CEO of Southern Africa at Standard Chartered Bank, Binita assisted in doubling the cluster’s operating profits from 2018 to 2022. Her impact extended to transforming the B-BBEE rating status. She championed the implementation of conduct across Southern Africa, earning her the esteemed Transforming AME award.

A champion of diversity, and in increasing participation of Women in Small Business Enterprises, Binita co-launched the ‘Dragon’s Den’, a competition leveraging SCB’s partnership with Black Umbrellas, fostering female entrepreneurs.

Her journey commenced at Deloitte, where she not only excelled in audit but also infused vitality into staff morale as the face of Deloitte’s Life Club. Simultaneously, she chaired the Johannesburg Article Clerk Association, raising funds for diverse charities. Her accomplishments as a black belt in karate, culminating in being awarded central Gauteng colours, showcase her multifaceted excellence.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Binita thrives on the exhilaration of triathlons, the precision of karate and boxing, harnessing the discipline of sports to elevate her professional acumen. Her dynamic spirit, coupled with her creativity as a makeup artist, enriches the diversity of her capabilities.
Binita exemplifies resilience − diagnosed with an autoimmune illness last year, she lost feeling in her legs, yet triumphantly overcame the challenge to achieve her personal best time in a triathlon.

Her mission extends beyond personal accomplishments: Binita aspires to inspire the youth, emphasising that success, philanthropy, and a vibrant social life are not mutually exclusive and may be attainable with patience, willpower and passion. A fusion of determination, ingenuity and compassion, she is a chartered accountant who is shaping her own destiny.
