Jarred Noche completed his degree at the University of Johannesburg and subsequently his articles at Grant Thornton in Johannesburg. He then moved to New York City where he worked in the financial services sector for two years.
Jarred always had an entrepreneurial drive and knew he wasn’t cut out for an ordinary nine-to-five job. Upon returning home he identified a +R360 billion funding gap in South Africa where small businesses cannot get access to funding from the banks. This gave birth to Fundrr, a fintech that allows SMEs to apply for business funding online and get approval within 24 hours. SMEs can qualify for anything between R25 000 and R5 000 000.
Both co-founders poured their life savings into the business and bootstrapped the business from day 1. After many learnings from their mentors, Fundrr was able to raise capital from a high net worth individual in June 2019. This allowed them to build one of the best brands in the country and grow the business significantly. In September 2020 Fundrr was acquired by Retail Capital, the biggest small business funder in the market. Fundrr has subsequently shown growth of more than 500% in less than a year.
Fundrr has partnered with the likes of Telkom assisting them in the lending arm of their new financial services division and also won the SME Finance Business of the Year from Corporate Wire magazine.
