Thinus de Vries has a passion for developing people and having a positive influence on other people’s lives. Since qualifying as a chartered accountant he had the dream of becoming an audit partner. He released this dream of his at the young age of 29 and this has given him the platform to lead people and to have a positive influence on their careers.
Thinus became an international partner at Mazars at the age of 31 and is the National Head of Mining. His strategic mind, innovative nature and passion for business and life have made him invaluable to the growth story of Mazars and he is a much-loved leader as the Head of Audit at Mazars Central.
Thinus is often seen as an overachiever in anything he commits to. He was a Top 10 BAcc student at the University of the Free State and was awarded the Top Student in Auditing in the same year.
He strives to inspire others towards the highest achievements possible and recently assisted two previously disadvantaged individuals to establish their own businesses.
He believes that being a CA(SA) is not only about having a designation − it is about having an influence and making a positive contribution wherever you go.
